Ideas for places to visit and romantic outings...

Boat trips

There can be nothing more romantic than a boat trip along the Canal or the river Vilaine. Enjoy a lunch or dinner cruise from Arzal with the Vedettes Jaunes or take a trip aboard a traditional wooden boat from Redon with the Toues de la Vilaine. For a taste of adventure, hire an electric boat (no permit needed) from the Repaire des Aventuriers in Redon and head up or down the river !
Choose from the Nantes - Brest Canal or the river Vilaine

For a memorable experience and the freedom to go where you wish, hire a cabin cruiser to discover one or some of the waterways which pass through Redon in 4 different directions : towards Nantes or Brest, Saint-Malo or Arzal or even along the river Blavet. The free guide to Canals of Brittany (in French) contains maps and other information to help you plan your trip.
Stroll through enchanting villages
Armed with the booklet Houses and Villages, free from the Office de Tourisme, set off to explore our charming villages and hamlets. The booklet shows delightful snippets of traditional building, and will help you notice lovely details when walking by old houses in our villages.

Fest-Noz and concerts

The Pays de Redon holds Fest-Noz (Breton music and dance evenings) and concerts all year round, although there are, of course, more in summer and in particular the Friday concerts and the introductions to Breton dancing. In October the famous Bogue d’Or festival is one of the highlights of Breton traditional music and singing events.
Les Musicales is for lovers of classical music but also for novices to enjoy the harmonious blend of music and historic buildings.

Fireworks

A magical starlit night, an idyllic setting beside the river Vilaine, street entertainment and parades all make for an unforgettable night out in the heart of Redon.
13th July 2015 in the port area at nightfall.

Redon Market

Monday is market day in Redon, whatever the season. A great place to visit for local produce, fresh fruit and vegetables, clothes and souvenirs. Try a freshly made ‘galette’ while you’re there !
